Lecture-discussion model is an instructional model designed to help students understand organized bodies of knowledge.
reflection of in-class model
The Elementary presentation for lecture-discussion was on Jackie Robinson. I loved the idea that the group had about throwing the baseball to the student who was allotted to speak. This is a strategy I would take and use in my own classroom. I think that planning could have been a little better but overall I felt the presentation was implemented well and both of the teachers were knowledgeable of the content that they were teaching the students. They followed the instructional model well and did a good job with comprehension monitoring.
I think the secondary presentation on lecture-discussion was also did a very good job of implementing their lesson plan. I really liked the four corner activity that this group did which made the students so much more involved and very engaged in the lesson. I think they asked good critical thinking questions. One weakness I think was this group could have co-taught better.
